MUSIC x MUSIC x MUSIC

Oops. Working two jobs, school starting, and trying to finish a million tunes all at once kinda puts blogging at the bottom of my priorities. Enough about my personal life though - I've been surprised at the amount of QUALITY music that's been coming out the past month. I'm sure DJs everywhere are as pumped as I am about this, so be sure to peep out all the gems below.

P.S. Can anyone tell me where summer went?

First off... yes the La Roux remixes are played out - but sometimes... sometimes... there's good reason behind the hype. I really wish that all American Top 40 hits sounded like this instead of the horse shit the tasteless idiots play on the radio these days - but I won't get into that right now. The girl's voice is a perfect element for remixing. Here are two of my favorites of the next wave of remixes of La Roux - "I'm Not Your Toy." Jack Beats once again prove that they know how to properly use the "wobble" to make anyone go nutzo on the dance floor.

I also like DatA's take on the song. There's something about orchestral sounds in dance songs that I really like.

Next up is Fake Blood, an artist I've been following since he mysteriously came up on the scene (maybe 2 years ago now?) He was M.I.A. for a few months but lately he's been pumping out remixes again and also has an EP coming out on Cheap Thrills. Below is a track from the said E.P. and is a bit different from the Fake Blood you're used to. I'll always be a fan of disco and I love the use of the sample in this song.

The remix of the Gossip is crucial if you're a fan of his "usual" work - super dark and at the same time has catchy, hypnotizing melodies layered with extra fat basslines in the background. And yes, the remix has the signature "Fake Blood" that he somehow chops up and glues together from the audio in the actual song - which still blows my mind.

B. Rich collabs with Sue Cho and MC Whiskey Pete to put out another high-energy party beast of a track. House music with lots of bass + huge drops = club banger. Give me the bass!

Drum n' Bass legends Evol Intent are back and I'll let the music do the talking for this one. I can't have this huge post without some dubstep....
