ROB SPARX x 2010 MIX

Rob Sparx is a producer who is extremely underrated and overlooked, in my opinion. His productions are always quality and recently he put out a new mix up for download featuring a lot of forthcoming tunes and new material worth checking out.

Dark, deep, percussive sounds mixed in with some of the wild and crazy bangers you all are obsessed with. Some of these are/will be out on his new label Migration Recordings.

EXCISION x SHAMBHALA 2009 DUBSTEP MIX

Excision is a dubstep producer I've come across recently. I've seen his name floating around before but never really took the time to check out his work. What drew me to him was the "Slayed" track on his MySpace music player which are looped Slayer samples combined with evil... no, I mean an EVIL fucking womping sub bass underneath which gives one of the most intense metal riffs and breakdowns ever written an extra OOMPH, something I didn't think was possible. I grew up on heavy/thrash metal so anyone that is influenced by the dark lord and loud, fast, fist-pumping pissed off music I can back.

That being said, Excision's productions are mostly composed of futuristic, filthy, crunchy sounds which I like to describe as drunk Transformers fighting each other... or maybe just a bunch of robots stomping through major cities destroying everything in sight. Either way, it's got my head nodding and I find myself turning the volume up on my speakers throughout the mix below.

He's done collab work with the likes of DZ, Datsik, and Flux Pavillion whom are all notable dubstep producers with quality tunes.
